Cycling and Scootering to School
As part of our policy to encourage children to cycle or scoot to school we have bike/scooter sheds adjacent to the playgrounds, which means that they are secure during the school day.
Children who cycle to school do so at their own risk and parents should make sure:
- their bike is road worthy
- their child is a competent rider
- their child wears a cycle helmet
- their child walks with their bike or scooter on the school premises
Children of all ages may ride their bike to school if accompanied by a parent.
In Year 5 and Year 6, children may ride independently, as long as they have parental permission and they ride safely and carefully and are very mindful of other road users and pedestrians.
Children are not permitted to ride bikes or scooters on the school grounds including the playgrounds.
