The Role and Responsibilities of the Governing Board

We are all proud to play an important role in the development of the school and passionate about making this happen.  We value the contribution of all children, parents and staff.

The Governors are a dedicated team of volunteers who work closely with the Co-Headteachers to set the direction of the school and to support the school in providing the best possible education for our pupils.

Our Governors come from a range of backgrounds: parents, staff, the local authority and the wider community.  Our School is committed to having a governing board that is diverse and inclusive and reflective of the community we serve, who have a range of relevant skills and are committed to acting in the best interests of the children and their learning.

The Governing Board aims to promote high standards of educational achievement, by ensuring accountability and monitoring and evaluating the school’s performance.  Collectively, the Governing Board and the talented and committed team of staff, strive to ensure each child at Oak Green School gains the skills and confidence to progress to the next stage of their learning journey.
