We believe in an holistic approach to the development of sport and physical activity for all and encourage collaboration and partnership working to make the best use of resources and enhance PE and sport provision in order to raise participation and achievement for all pupils.  Schools receive PE and Sport Premium funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6.  In most cases, the Government determines how many pupils in our school attract the funding using data from the January school census. The funding should be used to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE, physical activity and sport on offer.  This means it should be used to develop or add to the PE, physical activity and sport the school provides, and should build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made benefit pupils in future years.

Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the  quality of PE and sport on offer.  This means that you should use the premium to:

• develop or add to the PE and sport activities that your school already offers
• build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years.

The PE and Sport Premium should be used to secure improvements in the following 5 key indicators:

• Ensuring engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity - the Chief Medical Officer guidelines recommend that all children and young people aged 5 - 18 engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day, of which 30 minutes should be in school.
• Ensuring the profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement.
• Ensuring increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff teaching PE and sport.
• Ensuring a broader experience of a range of sports and activities is offered to all pupils.
• Ensuring increased participation in competitive sport.
